AV Retriever

The Norfolk Gundog Club held its 139th 15 Dog AV Retriever Novice Stake on 16/12/2019 at Lilac Farm Eastmoor.

It was a cold but dry day. The walk up through sugar beet in the morning tested the steadiness of the young dogs. The duck drive in the afternoon demanded good marking, natural hunting with good retrieving and delivery. It was an enjoyable day with very sporting handlers.  Our thanks must go to The Chapman family who are so very welcoming - without the support of local landowners our sport would struggle to survive. Our Judges Linda Partridge – Laura Hill – James Bailey and Kate Bollen for their fair consistent and professional judging. Richard Beckerleg for ensuring the smooth running of the trial providing plenty of game and varied ground to challenge the dogs and handlers! Keith Bedford and his team of guns for their excellent shooting. Skinners for their continuing support of all our Tests and Trials.

Thanks to all the helpers and committee members who give their time freely, cheerfully and without whom we could not run these events.

Sadly, the last dogs in did not complete their round so 3 Certificates of Merit were awarded.

Drumgoose Rancher – Lab. Dog – handled by Peter Raneryd.

Pointhill Peregrine – Lab. Dog – handled by Marianne Copp.

Verrad Firefly – Lab. Dog – handled by Mark Wilson.
